You Just Keep Me Hangin’ On

23 08 2007

Dear Seattle,

During my drive to the grocery store tonight, I happened to catch a tiny glimpse of your swishy orange sunset over the skyline in Ballard. Curious to get a better view (and in spontaneous me fashion) I decided to keep driving to explore the situation a little further. I turned a corner and my jaw dropped; I had to pull over at the entrance of Golden Gardens Park to gawk at the sky. And holy crap, for once my randomness paid off, because I got to see this:

Just when you were really starting to turn me off, Seattle, with all of your wintry weather nonsense in the middle of August, you came crawling right back. You’re a showoff, but I just can’t stay mad at you.

Baby, let’s not fight anymore.

First thank you so much for your comment on my blog. It’s always nice to know people are stumbling across your little, navel gazing corner of the interwebs and enjoying what they find.

Second, welcome to Seattle! I grew up in Ballard and Golden Gardens/Shilshole are definitely places worth seeing around sunset (or sunrise if you’re hard core like that.)

Third, on the hair front–a friend of a friend by the name of Liz works at Gary Manuel. I would trust her with my unborn childrens’ hair, she’s that good. They’re on 1st Ave and a little chi chi but definitely worth the money.

Tee hee hee. I grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington. I remember this emotional dichotomy. It’s a love/hate relationship, living in the Puget Sound. My parents returned there after being gone 20 years. They can’t seem to stay away.
